Verify Your Domain with a TXT Record for RWA.io

Verify Your Domain with a TXT Record for RWA.io

Why do I need to do this?

To ensure that no one else can claim your project on RWA.io, we need to verify that you own the domain associated with your project. This helps us keep your project secure and ensures that only legitimate owners can claim projects on our platform.

How does this work?

  1. Select your project on the RWA.io platform project claim page and submit your claim.
  2. Copy the verification information from the RWA.io platform.
  3. Sign in to your domain registrar's website where you maintain your domain.
  4. Find the DNS Management Section where you manage your domain’s DNS settings.
  5. Paste the provided TXT record into the DNS settings for your domain.
  6. Once your domain registrar publishes the TXT record, RWA.io will be able to verify that you are the owner of the domain.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1: Select your project

Select the project you wish to claim on the RWA.io platform project claim page. The necessary Information for you to complete your claim will be displayed. A button named "Apply for Claim" will also appear, which you need to click in order to start your claim. This can be done in the current step or after completing the following steps, order does not matter.

Step 2: Copy Your TXT Record Information

After you have selected the project you wish to claim on the RWA.io platform, you will be provided with the TXT record details, which you will use to prove your claim. These will include:

  • Record Type: TXT
  • Name: rwa.your-company-domain.com
  • Content: rwaio-verify=(VERIFICATION_TOKEN)

Make sure to copy these details exactly as they appear.

Step 3: Sign In to Your Domain Registrar's Website

Open a new tab and sign in to the website of your domain registrar (this is usually where you bought your domain). If you don’t know who your registrar is, check your original domain registration confirmation email.

Step 4: Find the DNS Management Section

Once you’re logged in, locate the page where you manage DNS records. This section might be called:

  • DNS settings
  • DNS management
  • Advanced settings
  • Name server management
  • Control panel

If you’re unsure, most registrars have help guides or support to assist with locating DNS management.

Step 5: Add the TXT Record

Within your DNS management section:

  • Create a new TXT record: Look for an option like "Add Record" or "Add TXT Record."
  • In the “Name” or “Host” field: Enter the value provided by RWA.io.
  • In the “Value” or “Content” field: Paste the content of the TXT record provided by RWA.io.

Save your new TXT record. It may take some time for this record to propagate across the internet, so don’t worry if verification doesn’t happen immediately.

Step 6: Verify your Domain with RWA.io

Once you've added the TXT record, return to the RWA.io platform project claim page, select your project again and click "Apply for Claim". If you have already done so in step 1, you can skip this step. Our system will start checking for the TXT record.

What happens next?

  • Automatic Verification: RWA.io will automatically check your DNS records. The process may take up to 14 days due to DNS propagation times.
  • Successful Verification: Once we detect the TXT record, your project will be successfully claimed.
  • Failed Verification: If the record cannot be detected within 14 days, your claim attempt will expire and you may need to repeat the process.

Troubleshooting

If you have trouble finding your DNS records or adding the TXT record, your domain registrar's support team should be able to help. They are experts in DNS settings and can guide you through the process.
